80 days of COVID-19: Recovery story that give hope
Dubai: “I had no idea that the UAE had such an excellent health care system and I feel the timely help I received at a UAE Hospital played a great role in helping me recover from COVID-19,” said Mr. Elysayed Sabra from Egypt.
Happy, healthy and feeling positive after a 80-day stay in at Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Hospital, Dubai,
Mr. Sabra shared his story because he wanted people to know there was hope and if one followed the protocols of testing, isolation and quarantine, it was possible to combat this pandemic.
61-year-old Sabra was brought to the hospital by Dubai Ambulance. As he was fainted in a park. He was brought to the emergency and immediately transferred to ICU. With no family to support in UAE. He was well take care by Medical team at the hospital.
As per Dr. Aziz Yassiri Head of ICU this patient was a very complex case considering the factors of his age. Pneumonia, respiratory failure and renal failure. This make him stay on ventilator support for almost 60 days and more 14 days in ICU.
The whole journey was challenging but fortunately he survived
Sabra was touched by the kindness of the doctors and nurses who treated me covered thoroughly with complete Personal Protection Equipement (PPE). I got better because of the round the clock care I received at the hospital or else I could have been worse.
